We meet Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha after four years again. Things have changed. Carrie is a successful author of several books. Miranda is stressed in her role as a working mother and neglects her relationship to Steve, through that he is unfaithful to her. Charlotte has everything she ever dreamt of – a kind husband and a sweet daughter, the both adopted from China. Finally she becomes pregnant. Samantha followed her love, the actor Smith, to Los Angeles and is frustrated of being alone and living monogam. That’s why she takes every chance she gets to travel to New York. But not everything has changed. The women are still best friends and charming like all the times before. They enjoy their conversations at dinner about life, love and men.
Focus of the movie is the relation between Carrie and Mr Big – they finally decide to get married. But it would not be ‘Sex & the City’ if things work like they are planned. The wedding becomes an enormous event with 200 guests, that makes Big feel uncomfortable. Further lead the wrong words from the disappointed Miranda, that Big does not appear at the wedding.
New face in the movie is Carries assistant Louise, who helps Carrie to organize her life after the disaster with Big.
‘Sex & The City – The Movie” is like a complete season in a quick motion and the great reunion of the four women. The movie does not offer new things, but emotion, entertainment and the topic of friendship like we loved it in the series. Despite the fact that you always know what’ s going to happen next and the exaggerated romantic, is the movie a funny lovestory around the four loveable characters Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha.
